About Dr Christine Ellisdon

I enjoy supporting individuals and couples in addressing the barriers that prevent them from living life to the fullest and from experiencing deep and fulfilling relationships. I believe in the internal resources each person has and the wisdom of the body to help people develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others so they can feel more settled in daily life.

Psychological counselling can help you uncover how your life experiences have shaped your behaviour patterns, feelings, and beliefs, and how and why protective mechanisms have developed. Working with the body can be a powerful part of this process, where learning to observe feelings and physical sensations in the body in a particular way, while engaging in other mind-body exercises, can help unlock feelings of ‘stuckness’ and help shift feelings from being difficult or overwhelming to manageable and freeing. New ways of relating to your internal and external experiences can then develop where the ability cope and self-regulate may increase while self-awareness can also develop.  Areas such as self-expression, clarifying values, maximising strengths and connecting with purpose are also common areas many people find beneficial to address.

You don’t need to have mental health issues to benefit from psychological counselling, it is for anyone who feels their life could be more fulfilling and enriching.
